Social Work

Most families of children with hemophilia meet the social worker when they first learn that their child has hemophilia. The social worker’s job is to help parents, siblings and the child himself deal with the impact that hemophilia can have on their lives. One of the early issues that you may have to face is knowing how much to protect your child.

As children get older, other issues may come up, such as how to train a babysitter, or whether or not both parents should work outside the home. By discussing your concerns with the social worker, you can find solutions that work for you.
