The Canadian Hemophilia Society (CHS) and the Association of Hemophilia Clinic Directors of Canada (AHCDC), in collaboration with CSL Behring Canada offer a Fellowship in Congenital & Acquired Bleeding Disorders. This program will provide fellows in hematology or other relevant fields the opportunity to obtain additional clinical or research skills necessary to improve the care and lives of patients with hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders.

Call for applications for the Hemostasis Fellowship Award
Eligibility
A candidate must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant and be a post-MD clinical trainee or postdoctoral fellow (post-PhD) enrolled in postgraduate training in hematology or other relevant fields.
Location of Tenure
These fellowships are normally held at Canadian institutions but Canadian citizens are encouraged to spend part of their Fellowship at institutions outside Canada, if the required nature or calibre of training is not available in Canada, with the agreement of their Canadian supervisor.
Stipend/Duration of Support
The value of this fellowship is $75,000 in Canadian dollars for one year and is tax deductible. The Fellowship will normally begin on April 1, 2012.

Deadlines
All completed application forms and support documents must arrive at the National Office of the Canadian Hemophilia Society on or before November 15, 2011. The name of the winner will be announced in February, 2012.
Evaluation
Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by an independent peer review committee composed of Canadian medical and scientific healthcare professionals. This committee will make final decisions on the awarding of the fellowships. It is anticipated that one fellowship will be awarded each year.
