Drive your car/drive your care

In November, the Drive your Car, Drive your Care training session took place in Montreal. Nine young person with bleeding disorders took place in this training which provided youth with tangible solutions to use during emergency situations, not only on the road but also on a medical level. The training was divided into two parts. During the morning session, the group learned emergency driving techniques. Among other things, participants also learned how to deal with different types of collisions, recognize dashboard warning signals, change a tire or a fuse, re-charge a battery, etc.

 A successful summer camp experience!

From August 9 to 14, the CHSQ camp welcomed 24 youngsters affected by a bleeding disorder as well as their siblings to Camp Trois-Saumons in St. Jean Port-Joli. This year, the youngsters could count on the presence of Maxime Lacasse Germain, a volunteer camp coordinator, and two assistant counselors,  Antoine Page-Lacasse and Anne-Julie Robitaille. Under the watchful eyes of nurses Ginette Lupien and Claudine Amesse, the youngsters perfected their self-infusion techniques.

The entire group at the CHSQ summer camp gathered at the edge of Lac Trois-Saumons happy to create marvelous summer memories! A heartfelt thanks go to our sponsors: Opération Enfant Soleil, principle sponsor for the 2009 summer camp, as well as the Fondation François Bourgeois, the Fondation Jeunesse-Vie and the J. Armand Bombardier Foundation.

The Quebec Youth Group at the Impact soccer game!
Last summer the youth group of the Quebec Chapter attended a soccer game of the Impact of Montreal followed by a diner at a restaurant.  Each time we attend a sport game, the home team wins! We were all sitting in the section of the stadium where the « ultras » gather; these are ultimate’s fans that sing and dance for the Impact during the whole game. It was fun! You can see below the picture at the restaurant of the 10 youth who attended the activity.
